Belastingaangifte 2018 / Tax return 2018
Vanaf 1 maart kan je de belastingteruggave van 2018 indienen. De aangifte moet op 1 mei bij de Belastingdienst binnen zijn dus wacht hier niet te lang mee.
Voor meer informatie:
From the 1st of March you can fill in your tax statement over 2018 at https://mijn.belastingdienst.nl. If you have paid too much taxes over the year, you can get it back by filling in the tax statement.
In order to find out whether you can get taxes back, you can follow the flowchart. It is important to remember that the “jaaropgave” (annual statement) you got from FlexDelft does not include other jobs you may have worked. If you have had two (or more) jobs at other companies, you should take the sum of the values from all your annual statements that are asked for in the flowchart.
Not getting anything back
There is probably nothing you can do about this, however if you believe that you should get taxes back or have any other reason, you can always file your tax statement anyway. In the end you will see whether you get something back or not.
Getting money back (filing your taxes statement)
- Go to https://mijn.belastingdienst.nl
- Login with your Digid, if you do not have a Digid yet you can apply for it with your Dutch BSN number.
- You get a website that is unfortunately only available in Dutch so it might be nice to ask a Dutch student to help you.
- Click on Belastingjaar 2018 to expand, and press “Openen” to start the form.
- Some details will already be filled in in the form, other questions you will still have to answer.
- Go through the form completely.
- In the end you will get a page which states how much you get back (or have to pay), you can then choose to sign and send it.
- You are done! It may take a while before you hear something but you get a statement and later in the year you get the money back.
If you have any further questions regarding this, we recommend to contact the Belastingdienst.
FlexDelft Feedbacklunch recap
On January 15, 2019 between 12:00-13:30hour FlexDelft hosted its first employee Feedbacklunch. This was initiated by one of the FlexDelft employees to increase employee participation in an accessible and informal way. Even though the attendance was not very high, this was very much appreciated by those who did swing by.
More important, we also received valuable feedback on where room of improvement is for the FlexDelft work processes. For example, the speed of the hour portal, unclarities of the payslip, employee cards, and delay in payment because of long hour approval.
Hereby we would like to inform you that we keep on developing the hour portal where possible, but unfortunately speed is something we currently cannot improve. This is because the portal needs to load information from another system, and it takes some time before this is transferred. We can imagine that this sometimes is frustrating but we are open for suggestions to make the waiting time less boring. With our portal developer we are looking at possibilities to send a reminder to your approver if declarations are waiting for approval for more than 2 weeks. Did you already see the ‘forgot password’ button on the hour portal login page? We added this based on your suggestions during the Employee Satisfaction Questionnaire from last year.
Currently the payslip is only available in Dutch. The reason is that this is being directly generated from the system and sent to you. We did request the system host to make is possible to translate the pay slip and they are working on it. In the meanwhile there is a description under the FAQ on the FlexDelft site about what is on your payslip (https://flexdelft.com/i-am-a-student/faq/). This is also available in Dutch. If your payslip question is not answered after reading this, feel free to drop by our office, call or send an email.
When you are working for FlexDelft your employer (faculty secretary/support service) can apply for your employee card. They can do that with the confirmation we send them after you registered with us and we got the application form from your assignment.
We are planning to organise another Feedbacklunch in 2019 and we are hoping to see you there. Off course we will communicate this in a timely matter by mail and on our website. If you have any feedback or suggestions in the meanwhile feel free to share this with us!

Deadline hourdeclaration 2018
Alvast fijne feestdagen gewenst!
Don’t forget to declare any remaining hours for 2018 before the 21st of December 2018. Unfortunately, hours declared after the 21st of December cannot be processed anymore.
Due to Christmas the last payment of this year will be processed on Monday 24th of December 2018.
We wish you happy holidays!
Good news for the international students with a work permit (TWV)!
Good news for the international students with a work permit (TWV).
As per May 23, the amount of hours you are allowed to work per week is increased to 16.
This rule also applies for students who already had a work permit.
For more information about this change, feel free to contact us, or check the following site:
Attention! Hour portal not available 1st and 2nd of June
Due to maintenance the hour portal will be not available from Friday the 1st of June at 6 PM till the end of Saturday the 2nd of June. Our apologies for the inconvenience.
Employee Satisfaction Questionnaire
A large number of active FlexDelft employees filled out the Employee Satisfaction Questionnaire. First of all we want to thank you for the effort to fill this in, with your feedback we can improve our company.
One of the biggest issues is that the payslip is only available in Dutch. This makes it hard to understand for the many international students who are on our payroll. We can't translate the payslip for you as it is automatically generated by our system, but we have written a new section in the FAQ with all the aspects explained. You can find it here. The Dutch FAQ is also updated and all the Dutch questions are translated to English as well.
Another issue that incidentally causes trouble is that it is not possible to change declarations once they are submitted. The moment you send your declarations they are processed. Perhaps it is good to know that your supervisor can still adjust your declaration before approval. Also, FlexDelft employees are happy to help you to change the declaration if necessary. You can call or email us to solve this matter. Due to safety restrictions in the portal you cannot change the declarations yourself.
Even though we have tested everything the launch of our new website is also causing some compatibility issues. We are working on making the website compatible with every browser and phone. We also want to install password recovery tool, so you don't have to email us anymore in case you've lost your login.
The last big subject that came out of the questionnaire is that the income tax are not clear to a lot of people. We are planning to make a tutorial movie about the taxes in order to make it more clear to you.
Thanks for the feedback!
